Where are you going in haste?
Stop a little, little sturdy,
Do you never take rest?
Little Birdie, Little Birdie,
Where is your nest?
Stop a little, little sturdy,
Will you show me that?
Little Birdie, Little Birdie,
Who taught you that tune?
Stop a little, little sturdy,
Shower me that boon,
Little Birdie, Little Birdie,
Visit my home another day,
Stop a little, little sturdy,
Don’t forget this way.
